“Minimalism isn’t about taking something away from you. It’s about giving you something more.” – Joshua Becker
Okay you guys, I had such a good time reading January’s book and learning more about slow and simple living! If you missed it, check out the book we read here.
For February’s book, I wanted to switch topics and really dive deep into minimalism and creating a minimalist home. From decluttering each room in your home to refocusing your life, this book has it all!
And the book is… *drum roll please*… The Minimalist Home by Joshua Becker! Yay!
From the genius behind the blog “Becoming Minimalist”, which is a must-read for anyone who is thinking about embracing this lifestyle, Joshua Becker’s newest book takes the reader on a decluttering tour of our homes.
Giving us step-by-step ideas for decluttering along with stories to inspire us, this book will have you decluttering in no time!
For me, along the journey I have been taking, decluttering was the place where I started and what got me hooked on the idea of living an uncluttered life.
Decluttering, and minimalism, at its core is simply about removing the things in our lives that are getting in the way of the things that truly make us happy and bring us joy. Whatever that may look like for you.
In “The Minimalist Home,” Joshua Becker will walk you through the spaces in your home and he will teach you the concept of only keeping the things that have a purpose that align with how you want to live your life.
This is a book that I have had on my shelf for awhile now and one I find myself going back to over and over because of the straight forward information within its pages! I hope you love it as much as I have!!
Now that you know a little bit about what to expect in the book, I want to give you a few questions to be thinking about while you read!
1. Before reading the book, what did you think of the process of decluttering? Had you done it yet in your own home?
2. What was the #1 thing you learned in the book?
3. Did you find it easy to read and finish?
4. After reading the book, did your idea of decluttering change? How?
5. Would you recommend this book to a friend?
Look out for info on when our discussion will be this month!! I will send out emails periodically throughout the month so we can stay connected!
If you haven’t yet, join the Uncluttered Book Club Facebook group to see what the others in the book club think of the books!!
