November is one of my favorite months, not only because its my birthday month, but also because it is the beginning of the best time of the year: the holiday season! For many people, some years me included, the holidays can bring a lot of stress and unhappiness. I am someone who waits for the holiday season all year long, I drive my poor husband crazy, and I can also get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the days leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas! Whenever I feel myself getting carried away or down, I try to focus on all the good and beautiful things and people in my life. The holiday season can be such a wonderful time of year filled with love and joy, so I decided to embark on a gratitude challenge during the month of November!
Things You Will Need:
- A notebook
- A mason jar (or any other jar that will fit pieces of paper)
What To Do:
Since there are three weeks before Thanksgiving, I think it is the perfect time to get started! Each night, or in the morning when you wake up, take five minutes and write down something you are thankful for. It can be anything! For example: I am thankful for my dogs, Oliver and Lily. Think of one reason why you chose what you did and write down why you are thankful! Fold up the piece of paper and place it in the jar. On Thanksgiving, before all the craziness happens with cooking, cleaning and company, sit down in a quiet place with your jar and go back over the many things you are grateful for! Try to write down something different each day! I would love to hear if this helped you to enjoy more of the little moments and positive things during these next few weeks! xoxo
