Dollar Tree Cleaning Supply Haul!

When I first launched this blog, I came up with the idea to go to Dollar Tree and try out some of their cleaning products to share with you. Don’t ask me why I haven’t done it before now but I finally went and bought the supplies!

Last week, I decided it was time so I hopped in my car and raided the cleaning supply aisle at the store. Of course, I didn’t leave the store with just that! Nope I had some pencils, candles and other goodies in my basket. Dollar Tree is like Target, you get sucked into walking up and down every aisle and grabbing things you don’t need or never even knew you wanted.

But, I digress. I picked up an array of products and was so excited to get them home and try them out. Unfortunately there was a casualty on the way home and the shower cleaner spilled in the shopping bag. I didn’t realize that happened until I had it on the couch for a few minutes and picked it up and saw the bag was wet. My couch now has a bleach spot on it, but it was worth it… just don’t ask my husband!

I have been using the products for the past week so that I could give you an accurate review of their cleaning abilities! Let’s break them down!

The Home Store – Furniture Polish: So good! I have been using this product to dust surfaces in my house and it works like a charm. The container does look a little like End Dust but, we won’t go there. The only thing I found was that a lot goes a long way so if you pick this up at your local Dollar Tree, don’t use too much or you will be wiping for 45 minutes. Maybe only like 2 minutes but you get the picture. The lemon scent isn’t overpowering but just enough to smell clean! I will definitely be buying this one again.

LA’s Totally Awesome – Window Clean: Another good buy! I cant even lie to you, I was very impressed when I used this cleaner. It claims to be streak free and it lives up to this expectation. I used this with a simple paper towel to clean the mirrors in my house and it did exactly as it said it does. The only thing I am on the fence about is the smell. When they say vinegar formula, they aren’t joking! This cleaner has a very strong scent to it however it doesn’t linger after you are done. An A+ in my book!

Lysol – Toilet Bowl Cleaner: Okay, this one is a name brand product so I knew it would be effective to clean my toilet bowl with! I was so excited when I saw this at the store – it’s the little things in life. The lavender scent is really nice and it cleaned beautifully. Now, this is a much smaller size than you would find at say Target or Walmart so you won’t get as many uses out of it. But it is definitely worth $1!

Mister Plumber – Drain Opener: Sorry Mister Plumber, this one gets a thumbs down from me! Our sink in the bathroom has been filling up and not draining correctly for a little while now so I was excited to try this product out. Unfortunately, nothing happened. I followed the directions on the back but this didn’t work! This is one I won’t be grabbing again from the store.

Spic and Span – Antibacterial Spray Cleaner: Oh Spic and Span, you have stolen my little cleaning heart. This cleaner is so versatile and I have used it in the kitchen, bathroom and random places that need wiping down. It is very gentle on surfaces and the smell isn’t overpowering either. I may have went back and bought another bottle, that’s how much I like it. You should absolutely grab this cleaner!

Is there anything better than a clean house?! Now, it rarely stays that way for more than 24 hours but while it is spotless I feel so accomplished. I will definitely be keeping these cleaners in my arsenal and possibly going to try even more!
